10/20/2023 0 Comments Arcane full episodesI’m wondering what tactics you utilized to achieve something so rich and dense? Was there any writing tips like “this character has to change at the end of every scene/episode”? It’s amazing how quickly everyone evolved (or devolved). The character deaths felt important, and I was waiting for the moment our heroes of the underground would intertwine with the heads of Piltover and I wasn’t disappointed. Yeah I was really impressed how well you guys balanced multiple storylines and made them all so important. Wow, so cool that you were able to find this post and comment. My gut tells me that we'll wanna wait a little longer to do so, since Arcane has just come out. I will say that you cannot produce something like Arcane if you just jump in and find your story while writing.Įdit: I'd like to make the scripts available to people at some point. I don't think there's "the one process" that'll work for everyone, kinda depends on what sort of creative you are. That golden question: "What promise are you making? What is an audience member tuning in for? How do you take their perspective into consideration to craft an experience?" To me, it's all about that. I was surprised to find basically nothing out there that focuses on quantifying/gauging audience perspective and investment as you build a multi-layered story. The further you eliminate the different perspectives, the higher tension rises, until the whole thing climaxes. Once you do, it unlocks your ability to shine light on those from different angles, which becomes your season. Plot kinda has to stay flexible and nimble, but you HAVE to know your central questions for your character arcs. We went deep on character arcs and themes and mapped the shit out of those. I think we were simply stubborn enough to keep fishing for answers. None of the literature/books/seminars gave us the answers that we were looking for, and so much of what you hear from other writers/showrunners is "you can't really plan out a full season, it's too complex and things will change, you gotta go episode by episode", yada yada. Took us a long time to find our own system/process.
